Prutz power station

In the Prutz power station, two Francis turbines generate electricity with a total output of 89 MW. The plant components are all located underground, which is why the operation of the plant is very quiet. A particularly positive effect for the adjacent neighbourhood.

The entire structure, including the 350 m long underwater canal, is flooded into the Inn. The impact on the existing landscape is minimal, and the power house blends in perfectly with its surroundings.

Special civil engineering work in the form of a diaphragm wall (d=80 cm) as well as an underwater concrete base with buoyancy anchors made of micro piles DN 133 mm were implemented to secure the excavation pit. The area of the underwater sewer was secured with re-anchored sheet pile walls, which were pulled back after the excavation pit had been filled to ensure the continuity of the groundwater flow.

The power house and the underwater channel were formed section by section with large-area form work and then reinforced and concreted. The material obtained during excavation was temporarily deposited on the construction site and reused for backfilling the concrete structures.
