Vectron Dual Mode (electric/diesel propulsion)

One locomotive, two propulsion systems – for efficiency and future-proofing

Whether for construction site traffic or long-term hire, the Vectron Dual Mode combines the advantages of a modern electric locomotive with the flexibility of a powerful diesel drive. It enables continuous and efficient operation – on both electrified and non-electrified sections – without the need to change locomotives. This simplifies operational processes, reduces downtime and significantly expands the range of possible applications. Thanks to modern drive technology, high performance and reliable availability, the Vectron Dual Mode is ideally suited to flexible and cost-effective operation. At the same time, emissions are reduced and energy consumption optimised during electric operation.

Availability: April 2027

Diesel locomotive BR211 V 100

The BR 211 V100 diesel locomotive can offer suitable solutions for construction sites with a wide range of requirements thanks to its strong tractive power and different areas of application. It can be used for shunting services, transporting heavy loads to and from construction sites and for removing rails and unloading ballast. It has a strong starting tractive force and can travel at low continuous travelling speeds. The multiple control option makes the BR211 V 100 diesel locomotive the best choice for complex projects.

Performance parameters

  • Multiple traction control possible
  • Strong starting traction
  • Use for transporting heavy loads
  • Low continuous travelling speed possible. Suitable for removing rails and unloading ballast

Versatile on the track
The OBW 10 superstructure wagon from PORR

The superstructure wagon is suitable for training and instruction journeys and for transporting loads and building materials for small construction projects. The OBW 10 is equipped with a PZB 90 train control system, with which modern safety technology in accordance with European standards can be taught and utilised. At Vmax 80 km/h, new trainees gain the necessary practical experience. Furthermore, the vehicle is also suitable for route training journeys for up to seven people.

With this machine from the track-bound railway vehicle division, PORR can also provide a versatile aid for small construction sites thanks to the 2-sided tiltable and hydraulic loading platform. The OBW 10 can also be used for shunting operations without any problems.
