Efficient foundation engineering with precast reinforced concrete piles
The piling and ramming work for the Bommen residential complex in 6971 Hard began in January 2023 and placed high demands on planning, logistics and execution. The geotechnical conditions of the building site required a precisely coordinated foundation solution to ensure a permanently stable base for the residential construction project.
In the area of foundation engineering, PORR opted for the use of precast reinforced concrete piles, which are characterised by high load-bearing capacity and cost-effectiveness, especially in difficult soil conditions. A total of around 40,000 running metres of concrete piles were professionally driven and positioned exactly according to static specifications.
At the same time, the excavation pit was secured using sheet piling over an area of around 6,000 m². This measure ensured the stable construction of the excavation pit and created optimal conditions for the subsequent building construction work. Despite the confined space, the work was carried out efficiently and on schedule thanks to the use of modern techniques, experienced specialists and forward-looking construction planning. This precision, especially in demanding foundation engineering projects, underlines the high quality of PORR's work in Vorarlberg.
