New construction of Pavilion 6 – Hanusch Hospital
Covering a gross floor area of around 10,000 m², a modern pavilion is being built, featuring capacity for 66 beds, an operating theatre complex and an intermediate care unit, meeting the highest standards of functionality, comfort and medical technology. The scope of work covers all planning phases – from preliminary design through submission to construction, as well as shop and assembly planning – as well as turnkey construction and full fit-out, including the supply and installation of medical technology. With this building, PORR is creating the structural conditions for modern medicine, digital processes and optimised workflows for the benefit of both patients and staff. The new building and the historic existing structure have been architecturally harmonised, with a green façade blending in with the surrounding residential area. The sustainability of the project also plays a central role. A geothermal system with 6,300 metres of deep probes, underfloor heating and a rooftop photovoltaic system ensure an energy-efficient supply.
Construction will run from December 2022 until April 2027 (expected) and will create modern infrastructure that ensures high-quality medical care in the long term.
