PORR has built a modern, high-performance office and logistics facility on a 15,000m² site on Innstraße in Zams. “From here, we will centrally manage and coordinate all building construction and civil engineering activities in the Tyrolean and Vorarlberg Oberland, the Außerfern region and southern Bavaria. We’re bringing together all our employees and resources in this region”, said Michael Pichler and Christof Hilber, PORR Branch Managers for Tyrol and Vorarlberg.

Among those attending the opening ceremony were Member of the Tyrolean Parliament Dominik Traxl and Mayor Benedikt Lentsch, as well as District Governor Siegmund Geiger, District Chairman of the Austrian Economic Chamber Michael Gitterle, Mother Superior Barbara Flad representing the landowner under the building lease, the Sisters of Mercy of Zams, and Andreas Falch, Property Manager and Spatial Planner. The event was officially opened by PORR Managing Directors Kurt Lackner, Paul Lamprecht and Zeljko Vocinkic. The ceremonial blessing was given by Father Adalbert Galba.

250 employees

Until now, the civil engineering unit had been based in Roppen, while building construction operated from PORR’s former location in Zams. In total, around 250 employees have been assigned to the new site, although the vast majority are operational staff and therefore not based in the office. PORR’s Tyrolean headquarters will remain in Kematen.

The new three-storey building has a usable floor area of approximately 1,500m² and boasts 90 workstations. A 200m² photovoltaic system on the roof generates renewable electricity, while heating and cooling are supplied by a groundwater heat pump. In addition to the office building, the site includes spacious storage facilities.

PORR offers its full range of building construction and civil engineering services in Tyrol. Major projects include the comprehensive refurbishment of the Lueg Bridge on the A13 motorway. In the region, the branch is also involved in civil engineering and infrastructure projects, including the major refurbishment of the A12 between Mötz and Simmering and the construction of the new Mils Inn Bridge. In building construction, PORR has been entrusted with projects such as the development of the Sonnendeck Mieming terraced housing complex, refurbishment works at the Trofana Royal hotel in Ischgl, and the construction of the new valley station for the HSH (Höllboden–Sassgalun–Höllkar) lift operated by Silvretta Seilbahn AG.
