For a long time, asbestos was a sought-after building material. Although the carcinogenic mineral fibre has since been banned, it can still be found in lots of buildings that were erected earlier on. These buildings must be carefully decontaminated in the event of demolition or general renovation. Asbestos abatement is one of PORR’s specialist areas.
Decontamination during deconstruction and demolition work

We ensure the safe and professional execution of industrial dismantling and demolition work by applying years of experience in the decontamination of pollutants. Protecting the health of our staff and the environment are our top priorities. We guarantee the highest safety standards.
These range from installing a negative pressure area or an enclosure for the training and equipment of our remediation personnel. Without exception, our specialists wear full-body protective suits with hoods, gloves, boots and respirators. The latter are equipped with appropriate particle filters.
In addition to asbestos abatement, PORR Umwelttechnik also undertakes the clean-up of rooms that are contaminated with PAHs and PCBs, mercury, lead, arsenic, cadmium and many other toxic substances.
